OUR INSPECTION METHODS
Visual inspection (VT)
Visual inspection (VT) is one of the oldest non-destructive testing techniques. It is a basic but essential technique for ensuring quality control and operational safety. Visual inspection is often the initial technique used to assess the integrity of a part. It is a useful tool for assessing the extent of corrosion, cracks, leaks and others damages. Visual inspection can be carried out on any part showing visible signs of degradation.
Magnetic particle inspection (MT)
The magnetic particle method of nondestructive testing indicates the presence of surface and near-surface discontinuities in materials that can be magnetized (ferromagnetic). This method can be used for production examination of parts/components or structures and for field applications where portability of equipment and accessibility to the area to be examined are factors. The ability of the method to find small discontinuities can be enhanced by using fluorescent particles suspended in a suitable vehicle and by introducing a magnetic field of the prosper strength whose orientation is as close as possible to 90° to the direction of the suspected discontinuity. A smoother surface or a puised current improves mobility of the magnetic particles under the influence of the magnetic field to collect on the surface where flux leakage occurs.
Liquid penetrant inspection (PT)
Liquid penetrant examination method indicate the presence, location,and, to a limited extent, the nature and magnitude of the detected discontinuities. This practice is normally used for examination of larges volumes of parts or structures, where emphasis is on productivity. This practice offers a wide latitude in applicability when extensive and controlled conditions are available.
This practice is intended primarily for portabilitu and for localized areas of examination, utilizing minimal equipment. Surface roughness may be a limiting factor. If so, an alternate process, such as water-wash visible or post-emulsified penetrant should be considered when grinding or machining is not practical.
Ultrasonic inspection (UT)
Ultrasonic inspection (UT) is one of the most widely used Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods in the industry. It can be applied to many materials and adapt to different geometries. It can be used to detect any defects resulting in a discontinuity of mechanical properties (crack, inclusion, porosity, etc.).
Among other applications, there is the search for cracks in metallic materials, the inspection of worlds, the inspection of composite materials, in particular for aeronautics, the search for porosities, etc.
In addition to defect detection, ultrasonic inspection is also used for dimensional analysis (thickness measurement), sorting and characterization of materials (identification of steel grades) or characterization of surface treatments.
